I have used todays date as the date of birth/passing but i'll change it if a birth date is
released.
A BABY’S body has been discovered in an empty house on an estate more than two months after a
family moved out.
A mum, 30, has been arrested by Gwent Police for allegedly illegally hiding the birth of her baby.
The mother-of-two moved out of the rented house with her two children earlier this year and it has
been empty since.
Workers were clearing out the terraced house at Farm View in Pengam, near Caerphilly, when they
found the baby's body hidden in the house.
A post-mortem examination was today being held into the discovery to discover the age of the baby
and how long since it died.
A spokesman for Caerphilly council, which owns the house, said: “The discovery of a baby’s body
by council staff at the property was obviously very traumatic.
“Support is being offered to the employees concerned.”
He would not confirm how long the baby had been in the house or where it was discovered.
A spokesman for Gwent Police confirmed a local woman has been arrested for allegedly concealing the
birth of a baby.
She has been released on bail and investigations are continuing.
